A Farewell to Childhood

The time has come to pack our toys,
leaving childish ways behind.
Our species should be adult now,
with a strong and logical mind.

The fairies, gods, and daemons,
products of a younger day,
should be set aside, and forgotten,
as we move on our way.

We have work to do, as grown-ups,
to improve, to save, our earth.
The responsibility is solely ours,

now we must prove our worth.

Old gods, born of superstition,
of ignorance, and of fear,
have given too much death and pain:
our responsibility is clear.

We must respect and love each other:
the journey’s now begun,
to build an inclusive haven of peace,
with freedom for everyone.

The time has come to pack our toys,
leaving fools and tyrants behind:
our horizons are bounded
solely by our collective mind.

Welcome, and Namaste

Greetings fellow travellers,

For you American friends visiting, you will notice that this old Canadian uses Canadian English in this blog: kindly bear with me. As I blog primarily on subjects that are vitally interesting to me, I appreciate all feedback.

As I tend to be a bit of a language usage freak, I will, as required, edit obscenity and rude comments. That said, I welcome your opinions and discussion.

May your Dharma be clear

Peace

Think but this, and all is mended:
That you have but slumb'red here,
While these visions did appear."
